The Life of a Philadelphia Sports FanSong: Dream on by Aerosmith
~Credit goes to JohnnyBev on youtube.com~ Our dreams were crushed again last night when the Phillies going into the postseason for the first time in 14 years were swept by the fuckin Rockies, a team that discriminates religiously, basically if you ain't a Christinan, you're not playing baseball on this team. Funny, aren't good Christians supposed to help their grounds crew when they're being thrown across the field by an unruly tarp during a rain delay? Why is the opposing team coming out of their dugout to help the grounds team when the holier than thou are sitting in their locker room high and dry? But I don't know how the Phillies expected to win when they couldn't hit the goddamn ball. It's just not fair, I can't taken another 24 years of no championships, damn you William Penn!!! The Curse of William Penn is an alleged curse, sometimes used to explain the failure of professional sports teams based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to win championships since the March 1987 construction of the One Liberty Place skyscraper, which exceeded the height of William Penn's statue atop Philadelphia City Hall. Since then, no Philadelphia major sports team (baseball, football, basketball, or hockey) has won a league championship. The last professional team to win a championship was the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1983 NBA Finals, when they swept the Los Angeles Lakers in four games, even the freakin horses are cursed-Smarty Jones was the favorite to win the triple crown back in 2004 and finished 2nd in the Belmont Stakes. |
